Position Summary
Our client is an established and fast-growing diagnostics business with over 70 years at the forefront of laboratory science. Their carefully engineered preanalytical product range is widely considered the de facto standard for specimen acquisition and transportation, used across clinical, life science, pharmaceutical, food, and forensic laboratories worldwide.
They are now seeking an Account Manager to take full ownership of the South UK territory. This is a field-based, customer-facing role requiring four days per week on the road. Previous sales experience is not required - the right mindset is far more important. Full product training will be provided from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Take full ownership of the South UK territory - developing and growing the customer base
Maintain a strong customer-facing presence in the field, visiting accounts four days per week
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in target markets within the diagnostics sector
Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline, consistently meeting and exceeding revenue targets
Develop and implement territory-specific sales plans aligned with the national strategy
Represent customer interests in shaping business strategy and management decisions
Maintain accurate sales records through CRM and contribute to regular pipeline reporting
Represent the business at trade shows, conferences, and events across the territory
Manage and report on the regional sales budget
Person Specification
Previous sales experience is not required. We are looking for someone with the drive and tenacity to own a large territory, be on the road consistently, and build relationships with customers from the ground up.
Proactive, tenacious, and highly driven - comfortable being on the road four days per week
Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a genuine commitment to over-achievement
Strong business acumen and the ability to identify and develop commercial opportunities
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to manage a large territory independently and efficiently
A background in diagnostics, laboratory science, or healthcare is advantageous but not essential
Previous sales experience is desirable but not required - full training provided
CRM experience useful but not essential
Full clean driving licence required
